The upcoming season of IPL is the fourteenth edition of it, known as Vivo IPL 2021. The matches are scheduled from 9th of April to 30th of May in six different venues across the country unlike 8 like the previous 12 seasons. As is common knowledge IPL is one of the most entertaining and most followed cricket tournaments across the world.
The championship brings together some of the most talented cricketers across the world to play together in teams. While this makes up for aggressive combinations, the age-old combination of a right-handed and a left-handed batsman batting together or the talent of a left-handed bowler brings extra strength to the teams. Not every team is lucky enough to have a left-hander in their midst but some teams possess the best left-handers that are a threat to the opposition.
Here is a list.
David Warner:
He is an Australian left-handed batsman and also a leg-spin bowler. In 2015 he got the chance of captaining the Sunrisers Hyderabad team for the first time. Later in 2016 with his brilliant batting performance and captaincy he made his team reach the final and won the first Indian Premier League IPL title for his team. He is a 3-time orange cap winner and has some of the best numbers among international players.
Shikhar Dhawan:
Shikhar Dhawan is a left-handed batsman. He made his debut in 2018 with Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) against Rajasthan royals. In the second season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) he was traded into Mumbai Indians. He played 176 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and scored 5197 runs. His highest score in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is 106runs in 2020. He has two century and 42 half-centuries with a strike rate of 126.87. Dhawan won the 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) with Sunrisers Hyderabad after giving his best batting alongside cation David warner.
Dhawan became the first batsman in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to score back-to-back hundreds and on the same day, he became one of the five batsmen to knock the 5000 runs mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhawan, who currently plays for the Delhi Capitals (DC), is another great player and is one that the opposition must watch out for.
Suresh Raina:
Suresh Raina is a former Indian International Cricketer. He plays left-handed middle-order batsmen and occasional off-spin bowler, he regarded as one of the best fielders in world cricket. The UP batsman is one of the major forces in the CSK juggernaut. He has been the mainstay for the team’s batting and has also led Gujarat Lions for two seasons. His exceptional batting has made him an Indian Premier League (IPL) legend and he also is amongst the top run-getters in the league. He has 5368 runs in 193 matches. He had missed IPL 2020 due to personal reasons but is all set to play for his home team, Chennai Super Kings this season.
Ishan Kishan:
Ishan Kishan is an Indian cricketer from Bihar. He made his international debut for the India cricket team in March 2021. Kishan is a left-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. The man had made his mark in IPL 2020 as he scored 516 runs in 14 matches and stood fifth amongst the highest run scorers. His fantastic batting skills were also witnessed in the India vs England matches that were finished recently. It would be interesting to watch this youngster make his mark through Mumbai Indians in IPL 2021.
Many players like Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Ben Stokes are among the top left-handers that are competing in the upcoming season of IPL that is about to begin from the 9th of April. You can watch all the matches of Vivo IPL 2021 Live on YuppTV from select regions across the world.
